Anna-Claire Coore Memorial Service
Event description
On Friday 17 February 2023, Anna-Claire Coore passed away following a prolonged battle with cancer. Anna-Claire was the much-loved wife of Chris Coore (TKS 1980) and mother of George (TKS 2011) and James (TKS 2014).
A former boarder and graduate from Tara Anglican School for Girls, Anna-Claire began her teaching career in various regional roles before joining The King’s School as a Kindergarten teacher in 2002. Anna-Claire remained in this role until the end of 2006 when the family relocated. Many boys will have very fond memories of their first year of schooling in Kindy Red with Mrs Coore. Anna was perfect in this role, bringing her deep knowledge of early years education, her warm personality, and a clear vision for strong partnerships between home and school.
Fortunately for King’s, the Coore family returned to Sydney in 2010 and Anna-Claire began her second season of teaching, initially as the Coordinator of Learning Support. In 2014, the School Council confirmed the addition of a Pre-Kindergarten class and Anna-Claire was seconded to lead the development of the program and establishment of the centre, becoming Kingsbridge’s classroom teacher from 2015 to April 2022.
A gifted early years educator, Anna-Claire created a warm, welcoming environment of wonder and curiosity to launch young Kingsmen into their King’s School careers. Her legacy will remain treasured in the hearts and memories of the boys she nurtured and the families and staff whose lives she touched.
The King's School will be holding a memorial service for Anna-Claire Coore in the Chapel at 4.00pm on Thursday 16 March 2023 in the Chapel, followed by afternoon tea. Please advise us if you would like to attend by Monday 13 March to assist with catering.
As a School community, we uphold in prayer the Coore family and those staff, students and families who will be grieving the loss of this treasured member of our King’s community.
