Annual Hevajra Retreat At SIBA

We are very fortunate that Lama Choedak Rinpoche will be leading the Annual Hevajra Retreat at SIBA Retreat Centre in East Gippsland, Victoria for Hevajra Initiates.

Hevajra is one of the principal tantric practices of the Sakya tradition of Tibetan Buddhism, renowned for its profound methods for transforming ordinary experience into the path of awakening. This retreat offers practitioners a precious opportunity to deepen their connection with the Hevajra practice through teachings, meditation and ritual practice under the guidance of Lama Choedak Rinpoche.

If you are a fortunate recipient of Lamdre teachings, have attended Lamdre Jo-chakma from HH Ratna Vajra Rinpoche in 2019, or have received the Hevajra cause empowerment, you are eligible to attend this year's Hevajra Retreat with Lama Choedak Rinpoche. Even if you missed previous Hevajra retreats, you will be allowed to attend it. 

Due to the busy schedule with the opening of the Sakya Temple of Peace in Canberra, this year's annual Hevajra Retreat has been postponed to November. Rinpoche has chosen to teach on VASE FULL OF PEARL OF WORDS: A VERSIFIED CLEAR REALISATION OF HEVAJRA, the seminal work on the subject by Sachen Kunga Nyingpo.

This special retreat will consist of the guided practice of Medium Length and Short Hevajra Sadhanas by senior practitioners and two teaching sessions daily by Rinpoche on the text. Although the recipients of both Hevajra Cause and Path empowerments may attend the retreat, there will be exceptions with certain sessions.

The retreat starts at 6pm on Wednesday, 11th November and finishes at 1pm on Monday, 16th November.

The booking fees include teachings, accommodation and vegetarian meals.

For shared accommodation, if you are travelling by car and can do so, please bring your own single sheets, pillow case and sleeping bag or doona. There is bedding available if you require it.
