Annual Inscription Ceremony
Event description
The Port Adelaide Workers Memorial, completed in 1921, was created by the United Trades and Labor Council and state Labor party to recognise people who made a significant contribution to promoting workersβ rights in the Port Adelaide community. Every year since then, a local champion for Port Adelaide workers and the community has had their name added to the memorial, connecting our proud past, with the ongoing importance of trade unionism for the community today.Β This year Michelle Hogan will be posthumously awarded the Rex Munn Award and her name will be added to the Workerβs Memorial. Michelle Hoganβs contribution to her community included over 40 years of significant work in education, womenβs community services, womenβs health and the trade union movement.
