Event description
FREE SCREENING PRESENTED IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE EMBASSY OF ITALY
Note: This free screening is one of four proudly hosted by the ANU Film Group in support of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-based Violence campaign. This global campaign runs each year from 25 November to 10 December to raise awareness and prevent violence against women and girls.
In post-war 1940s Rome, Delia (Paola Cortellesi) is a working-class woman who faces constant emotional and physical abuse from her domineering husband, Ivano (Valerio Mastandrea). Struggling to provide for her three children, Delia’s deepest ambition is to secure a better future for her daughter, who is soon to be engaged. When a mysterious letter arrives, however, Delia finally gets the chance to defy traditional family roles and change the course of her life.
A box-office phenomenon in Italy and winner of six David di Donatello Awards (Italian Academy Awards), There's Still Tomorrow is the acclaimed directorial debut of co-writer and star Cortellesi. Shot in evocative black-and-white, this powerful film delivers a resonant and hopeful message about resilience and the fight for autonomy.
