Arbury Park Outdoor School 50th Anniversary Open Day
Description
Arbury Park Outdoor School is celebrating 50 years!
For five decades, Arbury Park Outdoor School has provided memorable outdoor learning experiences for children and young people, helping generations connect with nature, explore the environment and learn through adventure.
To celebrate this special milestone, we’re inviting the community to join us for our 50th Anniversary Open Day.
Whether you attended camp at Arbury Park as a student, worked here as a teacher or staff member, live locally, or have simply wondered what happens beyond the gates, we welcome you.
Come and explore the school grounds, revisit familiar places, share memories and discover Arbury Park.
Throughout the day, visitors will have opportunities to take part in a range of activities and experiences inspired by the outdoor learning that has been part of Arbury Park for the past 50 years. Activities will include:
Guided tours of the school and grounds
Nature play
Earth art
Exploring water creatures from our ponds
Orienteering
Food and anniversary t-shirts will be available for purchase.
Please note: Arbury Park Outdoor School is an outdoor education site situated on naturally hilly and varied terrain. Most paths around the main buildings are paved. Paths, trails and forested areas may be uneven, steep or slippery, particularly in wet conditions. Wear suitable, sturdy footwear with good grip for your safety and comfort.
Visitors are asked to take reasonable care when moving around the site, remain on designated paths and activity areas where directed, observe all signs and barriers, and follow the directions of Arbury Park staff and event volunteers. Take particular care around ponds.
Children must be accompanied and actively supervised by a responsible adult at all times during the event. Parents, carers and accompanying adults remain responsible for the supervision and safety of children in their care, including while moving between activities, during activities and exploring the grounds.
