About the Conference

Improving eating disorder care for everyone, of every brain and body, everywhere.

The Appetite for Change Conference is back after a wonderful first year, and we're extremely excited to share it with you! It's the first conference in the eating disorder space of its kind; a three-day event exploring eating, feeding, and body, at the intersections of neurodivergence, queerness, transness, chronic illness, disability, and more marginalised identities, bodies, and experiences.

It will be held live online on March 10th-12th 2027, and all sessions will also be recorded and accessible on-demand for registered attendees for 4 months days post-conference.

Why this conference?

For too long, mainstream systems and services have shaped how we understand and respond to eating, feeding, and body. The Appetite for Change Conference exists to centre and uplift the voices, needs, and experiences of those who have been (and continue to be) overlooked, erased, dismissed, and harmed, so that we can create more inclusive and impactful understandings, systems, services, and supports for all folks.

What to expect?

Over the three days, you’ll hear from advocates, living and lived experience community members, clinicians, and researchers, and those who are many of these simultaneously, through talks, panels, and presentations that bring together living/lived experience and professional expertise.

We'll explore the experiences and needs of marginalised folk, unpack harmful assumptions, examine “gold standard” treatments, gain practical strategies and tools, and build pathways and practices for care that is genuinely intersectional, humanising, affirming, and accessible. These conversations, insights, and perspectives will challenge dominant mainstream narratives, and create opportunities to attendees to learn, reflect, and connect together throughout it.

Who is this conference for?

The Appetite for Change Conference is for a wide audience, and all are genuinely welcome. This includes (but is by no means limited to) mental health, allied health, and medical professionals; people with lived and/or living experience, advocates, carers, and allies; researchers, academics, educators, and students; policymakers, service leaders, community workers, and support coordinators; and anyone wanting to reshape how we think about, respond to, and support folks (individually and collectively) in relation to eating, feeding, and body.

Ticket options

  • For ticket purchase: We have various ticket options, to support financial accessibility. We have also set up AfterPay for folks who would like to purchase tickets via that method. Tickets can be purchased using the “Get tickets” button on this page.

  • For accessibility ticket waitlist: If you would like to register for/attend the conference, but tickets are not financially accessible to you (i.e. you need a no-cost ticket to be able to attend), please join the "Accessibility Ticket Waitlist - No-Cost Ticket" waitlist on the ticket page. If you've got capacity to pay in part for a ticket, but just not at the prices listed, please join the "Accessibility Ticket Waitlist - Pay As You Can" waitlist on the ticket page. We'll contact you as no-cost and pay as you can spots become available :)

Held virtually and accessible globally, this isn’t your typical eating disorder conference, but there’s room for everyone at the (proverbial) table, especially those who have rarely been offered a seat. We’d love for you to join us.
