Workshop 1_ Overview to Applying Safe and Together Model with Risk Assessment and Management Framework (RAMF): Strengthening the Response Pathway for DFV
Description
Virtual Workshop
Applying Safe and Together Model with the Risk Assessment and Management Framework (RAMF):
Strengthening the Response Pathway for DFV Screening, Risk Assessment and Risk Management in the Northern Territory
This interactive virtual workshop is the first workshop in a four-part professional learning series designed to support practitioners to integrate the Safe and Together Model and the Northern Territory's Risk Assessment and Management Framework (RAMF) into everyday domestic and family violence practice. Participants will be introduced to a newly developed DFV Response Pathway Integration Tool, designed to support practitioners in connecting the two frameworks across the DFV response pathway.
This workshop provides an overview of how Safe and Together Model and RAMF work together across:
Screening
Risk Assessment
Risk Management
It establishes the foundation for the three standalone pathway workshops that follow.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
Understand how the Safe and Together Model and the NT Risk Assessment and Management Framework (RAMF) work together to strengthen domestic and family violence responses.
Identify opportunities to strengthen DFV screening and early identification across the response pathway.
Recognise how a trauma-informed, perpetrator-pattern-based approach can support the identification of coercive control, child impacts and survivor protective efforts.
Describe how Safe and Together Model concepts can strengthen RAMF risk assessment processes, including consideration of harm, risk and danger.
Identify key principles that support effective risk management, safety planning, perpetrator accountability and interagency collaboration.
Apply the DFV Response Pathway Integration Tool across screening, risk assessment and risk management.
Reflect on individual and organisational opportunities to strengthen integrated practice and improve outcomes for children, victim-survivors and families.
Develop practical actions to embed learning within their own role, team and organisation.
Important Pre-requisites:
This workshop is intended for practitioners who have completed:
Safe and Together Model CORE Training
Risk Assessment and Management Framework (RAMF) Training
Participants are expected to have a foundational understanding of both frameworks prior to attending. This workshop does not reteach Safe and Together Model CORE or
RAMF training. Instead, it focuses on how the two frameworks can be integrated to strengthen practice.

Trainer Bio: Hayley Tuttle, Director, Empowering Growth
Hayley Tuttle is a certified Safe and Together Model trainer and certified RAMF trainer based on Larrakia Country (Darwin, NT). She holds a Bachelor of Psychology, a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychology and a Master of Criminology from Bond University. Hayley is currently undertaking doctoral research examining risk assessment and intimate partner homicide across the Northern Territory and Queensland.
With more than 20 years of experience working across child protection, family support and welfare sectors, Hayley has extensive experience supporting practitioners and organisations to strengthen responses to domestic and family violence. Her work is grounded in a commitment to child-centred, survivor-partnering and perpetrator pattern-based practice, with a strong focus on improving outcomes through collaboration and shared professional language.
Recognising the value of both the Safe and Together Model and the NT Risk Assessment and Management Framework (RAMF), Hayley has developed an Integration Tool to assist practitioners in connecting the two frameworks across screening, risk assessment and risk management. This workshop introduces the tool and supports practitioners to apply an integrated approach to domestic and family violence practice within the Northern Territory context.
