Event description
APRIL Dunedin Game Dev Meetup - with special guest Joe Simmonds
Join us for our APRIL Meetup where we'll be joined by special guest, Joe Simmonds, founder and developer at FourFox Interactive.
Moving Forward Through Failure
Indie game development is full of challenges, setbacks, and unexpected pivots. In this talk, Joe will share how embracing failure—whether through rejected pitches, design missteps, or tough industry feedback—helped shape FourFox Interactive and their game, Match & Mastery.
Learn how to turn failures into stepping stones and keep moving forward in the ever-changing world of game dev!
Joe is a game developer based in Dunedin, New Zealand. With a background in audio production and teaching audio and art students at SIT, he transitioned into full-time game development, founding FourFox Interactive. FourFox Interactive is currently developing Match & Mastery, a turn-based tactics game with a match-3 twist, supported by funding from the New Zealand Centre of Digital Excellence.
