April 2023 BCA Inform: Self-advocacy

This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

Join us for the April session of BCA Inform to discuss all things self-advocacy.

Disability advocacy is acting, speaking or writing to promote, protect and defend the human rights of people with disability.

Self-advocacy is where an individual speaks for themselves in promoting change.  BCA has developed resources and can offer advice to members on how best to self-advocate.

During this inform session, hear from Martin Stewart, National Advocacy Officer, who has a wealth of personal and professional experience in advocacy and self-advocacy.

Martin has assisted many BCA members to advocate for themselves on important issues and will share his experiences during this Inform Session. Martin will also be joined by BCA member Liz Wheeler, a passionate self-advocate who will share her personal experiences with self-advocacy.
If you have any questions, or would like more information, please feel free to contact us at events@bca.org.au or call 1800 033 660.
