Australia's largest regular poetry slam is back!

This month's feature is the incredible Zaynab Farah. Zaynab is a Somali, Melbourne-based Spoken word artist. Driven to support and give back to her community; her pieces explore intricate personal experiences and topics that she’s very passionate about. Zaynab has performed on various platforms, which include both community and local events. She was the winner of the Woodend Heat for the 2018 Australian Poetry Slam and the runner up for the 2019 Slamalamadingdong Grand Slam. Zaynab is the 2019 Australian Poetry Slam Victorian Champion.

PLEASE NOTE!

🍉 If you are intending to sign up to perform at the slam, please book a ticket and sign up to perform at the door. We are no longer offering free artist tickets but if you you have special circumstances/are experiencing financial difficulty and need tickets, please email us!

🍉 We've changed out ticket provider to Humanitix! They give 100% of profits to education projects. If you have any feedback about the change from Eventbrite, let us know via DM or email.

🍉  Due to Ramadan, we'll be opening a little later at 7pm and kicking off the event at 7:30pm sharp. 

🍉 Regular slam rules apply: No age restrictions/ 3 minute time limit/ no props or music/ poetry must be your original work.

🍉 The top 4 scoring artists will be granted a spot at the Grand Slam (pending COVID restrictions).

Poetry aficionados, appreciators of HipHop and literature that beats with a thunderous heart — you absolutely do not want to miss this!
