What should protecting groundwater in South Memphis look like—and what should our community have a say in?

Throughout 2026, neighbors in South Memphis have been meeting to help create the first-ever Groundwater Protection Plan for the area. Now, we’re bringing the conversation to the larger community!

Join the residents of Alcy Ball and Protect Our Aquifer to learn about the work that’s been done so far, hear what neighbors have identified as priorities, and share your own ideas for protecting the water beneath our feet.

Everyone is welcome, but we especially encourage residents of Alcy Ball, Castalia-Magnolia Heights, and Gaslight Square to join us. You don’t need any special knowledge about groundwater—just an interest in your neighborhood, your water, and the future of South Memphis.
