Ararat Urban Trees - planting days
Event description
Urban Trees – making choices for a changing climate
As our local climate becomes hotter and drier, street trees and private spaces can be used for valuable passive interventions to modify the local microclimate. Informed decision-making about tree varieties and placement are essential to have targeted and long-term impacts in our local towns and cities.
The Ararat Landcare Group has partnered with Ararat Rural City Council to plant a diversity of trees in Ararat streets.
Please join us to participate in tree-planting and creating habitat in your streets.
Friday 15 July - meet at the corner of Laby Street and High Street
Saturday 16 July - meet at the corner of McGibbony Street and Tuson Street
Sunday 17 July - meet at the corner of Moore Street and Gordon Street
“Urban Trees – making choices for a changing climate” is supported by the Victorian Government and funded through the Sustainability Fund - Supporting Our Regions to Adapt program.
