Architecture Makes | Street Party
Description
For sixty years, the School of Architecture and Built Environment at the University of Newcastle has been teaching people to imagine, shape and care for the world around them. Now we’re celebrating on the street, and everyone’s invited.
Join us on Auckland Street in front of the Watt Space Gallery for the opening night of Architecture Makes, our 60th anniversary exhibition:
Food trucks lining Auckland Street
Laneway party with DJ Rully Zakaria
Light projections across the Conservatorium of Music façade
Roaming drawing machines and installations in and around the exhibition
Opening night access to the exhibition in Watt Space Gallery, with models, drawings, videos and interviews from alumni and staff
Home: Making Architecture for the Sky, the Water and Underground — an exhibition of creative work by primary school students, exploring architecture and the changing worlds around us.
Whether you’re a graduate, a current student, a local or just curious, come and meet the people behind the buildings and see what an architectural education makes possible.
Where: Auckland Street and Watt Space (ground floor), University of Newcastle, Newcastle
Cost: FREE. Please register so we can plan for numbers.
Keep celebrating
Architecture Makes is open from 27 November to 4 December @ Watt Space Gallery
