ARCIA is proud to deliver the following online professional development short course, presented by: Chris Stevens, Managing Director, CartGIS.
Introduction to Digital LMR Standards and Planning
Date: 1-4 September 2025
Daily time: 10:00 am–12:00 pm (AEST)
Duration: 4 x 2hr sessions (8 hrs total)
Cost: ARCIA Member = $1180 +GST ; Non-member = $1450 +GST
This course introduces the student to the digital land mobile radio (LMR) standards and technology. Modules include an overview of digital radio standards as a transmission media, including the different standards, modulation, and vocoders. Each of the respective digital standards will be investigated.
The information is introductory and designed for all audiences, however, a basic understanding of radio communications would be beneficial. This course is designed for students who are new to the radio and critical communication industry.

Attendees will be sent instructions with a link and any additional information required, such as workbooks, prior to the course start date.
After the completion of the course, attendees will receive a Certificate of Attendance. After the course, an assessment will be distributed online, with answers submitted for marking by our course trainer. On completion of marking, those who achieve a pass will be issued with a Certificate of Competency, accredited by ARCIA.
