ARE FARMERS SAFE IN CANADA?

Join the National Citizens Inquiry in High River, Alberta, from August 18 to 20, 2026, for three days of public hearings examining the pressures facing Canadian farmers, agriculture and food security.

Farmers, researchers, agricultural professionals, policy experts and other witnesses will present firsthand testimony, evidence and informed analysis concerning the challenges affecting Canada’s agricultural sector and food system.

The hearings will explore issues including:

• Economic and regulatory pressures facing farmers
• Food security and access to safe, affordable food
• Agricultural policy and government accountability
• The future of independent and family farming
• Land use, farm consolidation and rural communities
• Biosecurity, food production and agricultural competitiveness

The National Citizens Inquiry is an independent, citizen-led and citizen-funded initiative committed to creating a respectful public forum where Canadians can be heard and their testimony preserved as part of the public record.

REGISTRATION

Guests may register for any combination of afternoon and evening hearing sessions. Please select each session you plan to attend so that we can prepare accurate guest lists and seating arrangements.

DINNER RESERVATION AND DONATIONS

A complimentary community dinner will be offered each day to guests who make a donation of $25 or more per person, per meal.

Dinner tickets will appear as $0 during registration because donations are being processed separately. Please e-transfer your dinner donation to donate@nationalcitizensinquiry.ca, click on the donate button on the website, or here:https://nationalcitizensinquiry.ca/donate/ and include the dinner date(s) and number of guests in the e-transfer message.
