Event description

ArleneWow! and Vagabond Bandido: “A Rich History with Poor Beginnings”

Arlene has long had an affinity for music. Born in Connecticut of Cuban immigrant parents, she flourished in her multicultural upbringing. Arlene began to write her own compositions early. She taught herself guitar by listening to artists such as Heart, Led Zepplin and The Runaways.

This performance is a tribute to Arlene’s parents. Its original songs depict their heroism and bravery which so reflect the American Dream. Immigrating to the U.S. from Cuba in 1955, they left all they loved dearly. In so doing, her Mom and Dad paved a way to citizenship and cleared a path for their two American born children to have a better life. The songs depict their struggles and achievements in a world so different and so challenging, but also rewarding and beautiful. Special guest: Vince Tuckwood

Arlene's albums include Red is Becoming and Ear Candy for the Soul. “Train Song” is about the late Johnny Cash and was written, produced and recorded by Arlene at her mobile studio.“Si No Me Quieres” is a Spanish lament -- it was recorded and engineered by Hugh Birdsall of Dogbite and the Reducers. Her next album is coming soon.
