Armidale - Emergency Response Training Workshop for local water utilities

Event description

The NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water will hold an Emergency Response Training Workshop in Armidale for local water utilities to develop their ability to better manage incidents and emergencies when they arise, particularly around working with other agencies.

The workshops align with the Australasian Inter-service Incident Management System (AIIMS), a nationally recognised system of incident management that supports agencies to work together to resolve incidents.

This workshop is designed for local water utility managers, supervisors and key staff who would be supporting in the event of an incident or emergency alongside Council's Local Emergency Management Officers (LEMO).

Attendees will gain knowledge about how teams work together, understanding processes and structure in place, and the information flow to ensure an effective team effort in an emergency or crisis.

There is no cost to attend this workshop. Please note, this is not an accredited course.

Registration is essential and light catering will be provided.

To allow as many organisations as possible to participate, we request a maximum of three representatives from each organisation.

Department employees who are interested in attending, please reach out to the Local Water Utilities branch’s Advanced Operations Support team to discuss and be aware that attendees from local water utilities will be prioritised.
Workshops will also be held in Wagga on 13 to 14 August and Orange at a date to be decided.

This workshop will be run by the department's Advanced Operations Support (AOS) team and you do not have to have attended previous events to participate.
