Community meeting on Arrow's Gas plant proposal
Event description
Have you heard about Arrows Lynwood Gas plant proposal?
Arrow Energy wants to build a huge Gas Compressor station at Lynwood just outside Cecil Plains. With a footprint the size of 15 footy stadiums, the facility would have its own gas fired power plant and flares, which release toxic air pollutants like nitrogen oxide, carbon monoxide, particulate matter, volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and formaldehyde.
Arrow’s Lynwood gas plant would expose local residents to serious health impacts - we want to make sure the community is informed about the risks.
Save Our Darling Downs is a group of farmers that have banded together to protect Darling Downs prime agricultural land from the irreversible impacts of coal seam gas drilling. Our properties have been damaged by gas drilling and we don’t want those impacts spreading further across our communities.
Join the Community event, Thursday 24th July, 6pm in Cecil Plains to learn about the proposal and potential impacts.
Special guest speakers include health expert Professor Melissa Haswell and a briefing from Legal experts.
Come along and bring your neighbour so that we can share information and work together to protect our community and farmland from gas drilling. RSVP so that we can cater for everyone.
