Art and the Albatross 2025 - an Exhibition and Talk by Chrissy Wickes
Event description
We are back! After a sell-out event in Wānaka, then having to reschedule in November, local conservationist and practising artist Chrissy Wickes will be returning to tell her story about working on the Subantarctic Islands!
Public Talk: Learn about the wild, windswept world of Campbell Island - part of New Zealand's Subantarctic Island group - where Chrissy spent ten weeks working as part of a small team with the Southern Royal Albatross last summer.
Art Exhibition: Take the opportunity to view a one-night-only exhibition of the art which Chrissy was inspired to create during her time on Campbell Island. Art sales will be available on the night.
Ticket price includes complimentary nibbles. The Matrix Lounge bar and kitchen will be open for purchasing drinks and further food.
From 5.30pm-6.30pm there will be nibbles provided and time to view the artwork, with the talk starting at 6.30pm. After the talk there will be further opportunity to view and purchase art.
Proceeds from this event will go towards Southern Royal Albatross conservation.
