Join us for the much-anticipated Sunshine Coast National Art Prize 2026 Winner Announcement, an evening dedicated to celebrating the very best of contemporary Australian art.

Be part of this special night as we unveil the recipients of the Major Prize, Highly Commended Award, and People's Choice Award. Enjoy an evening of celebration, entertainment, and anticipation as this year's winners are revealed by esteemed judge Rhana Devenport ONZM; curator, writer and academic based in Sydney/Gadigal.

The 40 finalist artworks, selected from across Australia, will be exhibited at Caloundra Regional Gallery from 21 August to 11 October 2026, showcasing outstanding contemporary works across a diverse range of 2D and new media practices.

With a prize pool of more than $35,000, the awards include:

About the Prize

Established in 2006, the Sunshine Coast National Art Prize is the region's premier national contemporary art award. Open to Australian artists working in any 2D medium and new media, the acquisitive prize plays a significant role in building the Sunshine Coast Art Collection and contributing to the region's cultural legacy.

The 40 finalist artworks offer diverse perspectives on contemporary life through an array of mediums including painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, assemblage, and digital art.
