Art of Nature
Three inspiring days of art, music, and events celebrating the beauty of nature and helping raise funds for the work of Forest Ecology Alliance. Held at the Valla Beach Community Hall. Featuring paintings by Mary Forbes, poetry and audiovisual show by poet/photographer John Bennett, ceramics by Lyn Walsh and pieces by local nature loving artists.
Friday night. 5.30 to 8.30pm. Entry by donation. Exhibition opens with canapes, nibbles and wine available for purchase. Special presentations by Mary Forbes and John Bennett. Music by the Valla Beach Acapella singing group, and the Wild Women of Anywhere Beach.
Saturday. 9am to 5pm. Entry by donation. Exhibition is open, with a meditation and sound healing session at 3.30pm. (BYO yoga mat or cushion)
Saturday. 5.30 pm to 8pm. Tickets $20 Adult. $15 Student/Concession. Artist talk and demonstration. “Painting without brushes” by well-known local artist Greg Coates. Includes dinner of Soup/Sourdough, Cake/Cuppa (vegan and gluten free options available) Maximum 25 participants.
Sunday. 8.30 to appox 10am. Meet near amenities block South carpark, at end of Valla Beach Rd. Poet’s Walk with John Bennett from Milba estuary to the Womens cave and back featuring his poems about this stretch of coastline, and respect for the Gumbaynggirr culture that cherished this region. Discussion points: the endangered migratory birds, “Old Man’s Hat” rock, the lagoon and the Women’s cave. Maximum 12 participants. Please RSVP by email to frogdownstairs@gmail.com
