Art Talk: Shared Society Through Art
Description
If you're in need of a dose of hope around Israel Palestine right now, Givat Haviva is it. Through their Shared Art Center, they connect Israeli and Palestinian artists, students, and viewers to imagine a peaceful and shared future. Their contemporary art gallery, featuring the work of emerging and established local and international artists, community, and youth programs reach thousands of people annually, and in recent years, Givat Haviva has expanded to respond to the needs — and the hurt — in the local community.
Join us for an inside look at the work of Givat Haviva, the powerful artwork, and the impact on Israeli society. Gallery Curator Barak Rubin, Givat Haviva Director Mohammad Darawshe, and Board Chair of Givat Haviva US Jeff Goodman will explore their vision for shared society through art, and invite us into a conversation about building bridges.
Conversation and presentation to be followed by a dessert reception.
Stop by when doors open to see images from Givat Haviva students, as well as our current gallery exhibit, American Chutzpah.
