Art: Using Light, Dark and Mid-tones in a painting

Tone refers to the lightness and darkness of colours in a painting. Between light and dark is referred to as mid-tone. As artists we need to use light and dark to convey atmosphere, mood and emotion. Without it a painting can look flat, muddy and non-grounded. This workshop will introduce you the need for tone in a painting.
