Arte Ricca Exhibition - Opening Night

Arte Ricca is a rich and unique gathering of art and people. Emerging and established contemporary artists, the local community and The Beehive Montessori School all come together to showcase the visual arts and celebrate community connection.

This year, the Arte Ricca Exhibition presents new work by over thirty artists working across a variety of mediums including painting, sculpture, ceramics and illustration, incorporating both traditional and avant-garde materials and techniques. The exhibition, curated by Beehive parent and renowned Fremantle artist, Anya Brock, will feature a diverse and exciting group of artists including Amok Island, Ian Daniell, Ross Potter, Emma Lipscombe, Jacinda Bayne, James Giddy, Sara Winfield, Melissa Boughey, Stephen Brameld & Jay Staples.

The Arte Ricca Exhibition will be open to the public from Saturday 31st October - Sunday 8th November with the opening night festivity on Friday 30th October at 6pm.

This year, Beehive welcomed Gaia Leonardi to the community as their Artist in Residence. This was made possible through the commission funds the school received from the Arte Ricca Exhibition in 2024. Gaia is an Italian ceramic artist and educator from Bottega Mirta Morigi in Faenza. Gaia undertook workshops with all students from 3yrs to 15yrs, bringing her unique blend of contemporary ceramics, creativity, and embodied learning. Students were able to explore clay through touch, play, and imagination. Beehive were thrilled to have had her join the community!

To celebrate the final day of the Arte Ricca Exhibition, there will be a Pop Up Market on Sunday 8th November from 10am - 3pm. The outdoor market will showcase handmade works from West Australian artisans and designers and include a range of bespoke jewellery, ceramics, sustainable swimwear, organic cotton clothing, soaps, candles, bags, cushions and more!

The Pop Up Market will be a family fun affair! There will be a kids art workshop running in both the morning and afternoon, as well as delicious treats from the Coastal Café, a sausage sizzle and cake stall run by the Beehive students and ice cream!
