About the Presenter:
James Boyd has over 30 years of experience working in the arts in the UK and Australia, with a background in theatre and community cultural development. In 2004 was appointed Development Director of WASO, where he pioneered US style arts fundraising practices in Australia. Since 2008 he has worked for the commonwealth government across the arts and cultural sector, philanthropy and business to encourage greater sustainability through innovative cross-sector engagement, strategic partnerships, sponsorship and philanthropy. As WA’s representative of Artsupport Australia, an office of the Australia Council, he helped broker over $80million of philanthropic support to the arts. His Churchill Fellowship report ‘PURE MONEY?’ Global Responses Offering Arts Organisations Perspectives and Actions to Help Navigate Private Sector Funding Dilemmas was published in September 2023.  In July 2023, he was appointed State Manager, Development & Partnerships (WA), Creative Australia.
