Ghost in the Avatar | Virtual In-Conversation with Tess Bakharia & Exhibition Artists
Event description
As part of the Outer Space's public program for Ghost in the Machine, an in-conversation panel discussion will be held virtually with Writer and Curator Tess Bakharia, whose practice engages deeply with decolonial discourse, digital architectures, the decentralisation of contemporary experience, and the reimagining of speculative futures.
In dialogue with exhibiting artists Celacious666, Rainer Ciar, and Fei Gao, the discussion will offer a deeper exploration of the exhibition's central themes: identity, embodiment, and the spectral presence of self in mediated realities. Through the lens of avatars, roleplay, and fan-created mythologies, the panel will unpack how emotional truth and personal memory become re-authored within digital and speculative terrains.
Together, they will explore what it means to exist through projection - how digital masks, whether used as protection or performance, become vessels for shared feeling, transformation, and the fleeting embodiment of other selves.
This public program is free, however, registration required to receive the online meeting link.
