Artist Talk: Caitlin Dubler + Shock Lines
Event description
The Glassworks Artist Talk series is an opportunity for artists in our Artistic Program to share their experiences and experimentations with the arts community in an informal presentation.
This public talk will be held in the Canberra Glassworks foyer with light refreshments available. Everyone is welcome and there are absolutely no silly questions. We are all here to learn.
Caitlin's talk will take place after her 3pm performance with the Canberra International Music Festival at Canberra Glassworks. Book your ticket to her collaborative performance Shock Lines here
CAITLIN DUBLER, Artist in Residence
Caitlin Dubler is a glass artist and trained silversmith exploring material histories through craft processes. Recent work has involved experimental glass fusing, playing with chemical reactions within the kiln firing process.
Shock Lines is composed of glass artist Caitlin Dubler, sound artist & cellist Natasha Dubler and percussionist Niki Johnson. Shock Lines brings three distinctive understandings of material, transformation and gesture into dialogue through each artist’s respective craft. By mutually challenging the strict conventions of each individual practice the collaboration opens new avenues for play across disciplinary forms
