Artist Talk: Peter Nilsson, & Kathy Elliott
Event description
The Glassworks Artist Talk series is an opportunity for artists in our Artistic Program to share their experiences and experimentations with the arts community in an informal presentation.
This public talk will be held in the Canberra Glassworks foyer with light refreshments available. Everyone is welcome and there are absolutely no silly questions. We are all here to learn.Â
PETER NILSSON, Glassworks Mentorship
Swedish born Peter Nilsson is an established glass artist and Glassworks Studio Tenant specialising in cold worked glass now based in Canberra.  Peter is internationally renowned as a master cold worker with over thirty years experience. Inspired by Scandinavian folklore and a fascination of nature, Peter’s work examines the fluid boundaries between humans and nature and the fragile relationship they share. Peter graduated from the National Glass school in Orrefors and become an engraver at Pukebergs Glassworks. He spent nine years at the Swedish National Glass School as a Senior Lecturer in coldworking techniques, sketching techniques and art history before relocating to Australia in 2010. Now based at Canberra Glassworks, he is sought for production and teaching projects nationally and internationally.
