Artist Talk: Shan Turner-Carroll
Description
Glassworks Artist Talks are a free public program offering insight into contemporary glass and cross-disciplinary practice. Across the year, artists in residence and visiting practitioners present informal talks on their work, creative process and current experimentation.
Held in the Canberra Glassworks foyer, these conversations create an open and welcoming space to hear directly from artists, ask questions and connect with the broader arts community. Whether you are an artist, student, collector or simply curious, everyone is welcome. No prior knowledge required

Speaker
Shan Turner-Carroll
Based in Wonnarua (Newcastle, NSW), Shan Turner-Carrollis an Australian artist of Burmese descent working across photography, sculpture, performance, and film.
Shan's art-making is ritualistic and transformative, with play, humour, and experimentation as key elements in his practice. As a multidisciplinary artist he approaches each new exploration with a Midas touch. As his works materialise, he's proving glass is no exception.
