Event description

"Artistry, Creativity & Wellbeing in String Education and Fresh Career Pathways" with Rupert Guenther

Thursday 7th August

5-6pm free talk in the Majorca Room, City Library 253 Flinders Lane Melbourne with meet & greet afterwards for dinner nearby.

Rupert presents a fascinating talk and demonstration on his approaches to classical violin playing, improvisation, electric strings, and self-esteem wellbeing & healing stage-fright.

He formally studied violin with Harry Hutchins, Donald Scotts and Brian Finlayson at the Victorian College of The Arts before leaving for Europe to pursue studies with Helfried Fister and masterclasses with Igor Ozim, and a career in Vienna.

After a successful career for two decades as sideman to the stars in Europe and Australia, in 2002 he set out on his own pathway as an original artist, performing all his own works solo and in ensemble entirely through an approach he developed to classical improvisation. Since then he has independently released 40 albums of his own music including 5 albums commissioned and recorded for ABC Classic FM. He continues to tour internationally giving recitals and masterclasses, and presenting his approaches to violin technique and repertoire, improvisation as a career pathway, self esteem wellbeing & healing stage-fright, and electric strings at conferences worldwide.
