Description
Artists and arts practitioners. Health professionals. Researchers. Policymakers. Community practitioners. Educators. Students. Emerging leaders. Advocates.
Whether you are new to arts and health or have been working in the field for decades, you will find opportunities to learn, connect, contribute and discover new possibilities.
For in-person attendees, there will be time to share lunch, meet others and take part in a creative reflective experience as part of the day.
MORNING | POSSIBILITY, LEADERSHIP & NEW PERSPECTIVES
We begin by asking some big questions:
How do we embed creativity and wellbeing at scale?
How can creative thinking help us navigate change and uncertainty?
What becomes possible when we imagine the future together?
International Keynote | Creativity, Possibility & Navigating Uncertainty
Professor Vlad Glăveanu
DCU Business School / Centre for Possibility Studies, Ireland
What if possibility is not simply something we imagine, but something we can actively create?
Professor Vlad Glăveanu will explore creativity and futures thinking as part of the cultural ecosystems through which we collectively imagine, negotiate and shape change. Drawing on his work in possibility studies, he will consider how creativity can help us move beyond what is already established and open new pathways for health, wellbeing and social change.
Culture, Creativity & Wellbeing at Scale
Sheila Deegan | Creative Ireland, Ireland
Session hosted by Barbara Doran
What can we learn from Ireland’s experience of embedding creativity and cultural participation across government and communities?
Drawing on the Creative Ireland Programme, Sheila Deegan will explore the connections between cultural policy, participation, place and community, and share inspiring evidence of what happens when creativity and wellbeing become part of a broader policy and community ecosystem.
Together, these international perspectives invite us to think beyond individual projects and ask how we can create the conditions for creativity to have a much greater impact.
AFTERNOON | POLICY, ADVOCACY & ACTION
The afternoon shifts from possibility to action.
Associate Professor Claire Hooker (AHNNA vice president) will provide an introduction and opportunity to connect to the Creative Health Framework Project, and lead a collaborative policy and advocacy conversation.
The afternoon will also include creative workshops, case studies and opportunities to develop ideas and potential projects emerging from the gathering.
This is an opportunity not only to hear from others, but to contribute your experience, ideas and imagination to the future of the field.
This event is supported by the Arts Health Network NSW/ ACT, The Creative Health Alliance, Australia and University of Technology, Sydney.
