Arts Creative Lab: Elementary Kids' Art Class 10/1-10/29
Event description
Join our Arts Creative Lab and come explore drawing, painting, sculpting, and more to create wonderful original art.
Class meets for 5 weeks, every Wednesday 4pm-5:30pm, October 1, 8, 15, 22, 29, 2025.
In this engaging and colorful session, students will journey through the diverse cultures and artistic traditions of South America. From the ancient patterns of Incan textiles to the vibrant murals of modern Latin American street art, students will explore a wide variety of media, styles, and techniques. Each lesson will highlight a different country or cultural tradition, encouraging students to create their own artwork inspired by traditional and contemporary South American artists. Projects may include clay pottery inspired by pre-Columbian ceramics, bright papel picado banners, Amazonian animal drawings, amazing waterfalls or erupting volcanoes, and folk art masks. This class aims to build cultural appreciation, creativity, and hands-on art-making skills while celebrating the rich visual heritage of South America.
Explore your creativity in this multi-media class, appropriate for children in Kindergarten through 5th grade.
Please dress for mess, as paint smudges may always be part of our fun art classes! (we do provide an apron for class use). All materials included. Classes are in Bee Cave Arts Foundation gallery, in suite F160, across from H&M and Dillard's in the Hill Country Galleria.
Come learn with our fabulous instructor Petra!
Petra has lived on three continents, and this is reflected in her work. Images from Africa, the Middle East and Texas are recurring themes in her art. Her favorite medium is soft pastels, closely followed by mixed media and acrylics. Petra is still taking art courses, exploring new ways of expressing herself through her art. "I don't think I will ever stop learning - there is always room for improvement."
