Event description

This service is for transgender, gender diverse, and nonbinary people.

About the session:

I offer bodywork through a queer & trauma informed lens, working with a deep connection to my intuition & spirit. Bodywork is a ritual of deep listening, connection & an ever unfurling conversation with the layers of our being. My approach to bodywork is grounded in humanness. I prioritise & value your lived experience, collaboration & open communication. Inviting us to meet as humans, to move towards a place of understanding together, to co-create safety & a setting that centres your agency. My role in sessions is to facilitate gradual somatic exploration & support you softening into the rhythms of your body, breath & a felt sense of connection to your heart’s truth. Inviting the fluidity of who you are & who you are becoming to be seen & nurtured. Bodywork sessions with me are a great resource: If you are wanting to explore the systemic patterns behind your physical experiences. If you need emotional & energetic support through life transitions. Growing a deep & compassionate connection with your body.

Bodywork sessions are informed by my formal studies in Remedial Massage and Zen Shiatsu. I use a combination of somatic exploration, myofascial techniques, pressure points, movement and deep stretches to support your nervous system moving into a place of rest, which can facilitate: the reduction of tension & pain, support organ function, digestion & sleep, fluid & energy flow, emotional regulation & expression.

Within this place of rest your awareness may expand out to the edges of your body. Allowing you to connect to the rhythm and felt sense of your internal landscape, archetypal parts & emotional patterns. This has supported folks growing a deep & compassionate relationship with their being, and gradually building capacity to move in & out of states of nervous system regulation with more ease.

Sessions are always guided by your lived experience, needs and desires. A bodywork session can also be a place to practice conversations around boundaries, asking for what you need and building safety around touch.

What to expect:

At the beginning there is time for you to share about what you are experiencing, your needs & intentions.   I will initiate a conversation on boundaries in each session, so that your needs around touch & exposure are understood.  Bodywork is received in a warm, low sensory space, on a massage table. With support props to accommodate any position & needs.   There is the choice to be fully clothed, partially undressed or fully undressed under a sheet. Touch is gradual & flows with your breath. Ranging from broad and compressive to specific focused pressure points. Brushing, tapping & Holding. With gentle movement of joints and deep stretches.  At the end we will have time to sit together in silence or to reflect.  We can also explore practical somatic resources & ways to strengthen your support networks to support you between sessions.

About the facilitator

I'm Alice, a trans woman & witch from nipaluna. Movement & drawing have been my mediums for embodied exploration over the years. These practices have facilitated a deep unfolding, a reclamation of my body & self expression. I am drawn to offering bodywork, in hopes that settling into our hearts, allows us to navigate life within the web of ecology with deeper receptivity & reciprocity.
My journey of heart centred care began as a child, learning through the loving presence of my mother. My formal studies began in 2019. Since studying Remedial Massage I've prioritized dismantling the reductionist lens and power dynamics of the practices foundations. Reforming an approach to bodywork that encourages us to meet as humans in collaboration.
