AS Services: Bodywork with Alice

This service is for transgender, gender diverse, and nonbinary people.

We ask that if you have had a bodywork appointment with Alice in the last month that you please do not register, to allow others the chance to secure a space.

About the session:

Bodywork sessions are informed by my formal studies in Remedial Massage and Zen Shiatsu. I use a combination of somatics, myofascial techniques, pressure points, movement and deep stretches to support your nervous system moving into a place of rest, which can facilitate: the reduction of tension & pain, support organ function, digestion & sleep, fluid & energy flow, emotional regulation & expression. Within a session we can also explore practical somatic resources & ways to strengthen your support networks, to support you between sessions and empower you to achieve your goals. These sessions have supported folks growing a compassionate relationship with their body, deep knowing and spirit, supporting them move towards a felt sense of clarity in their heart and peace within the mystery of life.

At the beginning of a session we talk about your experience, needs and goals while working together. We will have a conversation about boundaries around touch and exposure in every session. Bodywork is received in a warm, low sensory space, on a massage table; with support props to accommodate your comfort. There is the choice to be fully clothed, partially undressed under a sheet; the bodywork that I offer is not a sexual service, and I don't not work with sexual energy or any forms of coaching in this realm . I do not work under the draping, and I do not touch genitals, nipples, lips or any other orifices of the body. At the end of the session there is time to check-in or sit in silence and ground before leaving.

About the facilitator: 

I'm Alice, a trans woman & witch from lutruwita, I feel deeply connected to the transformational energy of her mountains & rivers that thread through the lands. My work is ever transforming in response & relationality to the shaping forces of experience. Spanning across movement, drawing, writing & bodywork. These mediums have offered paths for embodied exploration over the years, facilitating a deep unfolding, a reclamation of my body &self expression. Since studying Remedial Massage I've prioritized dismantling the reductionist lens & power dynamics of the practices foundations. Reforming an approach to bodywork that encourages us to meet as humans in collaboration, offering space for the fluidity & expansive quality of our being to be witnessed. I offer my work with the intention of supporting people settling into their bodies & hearts, so that they can navigate life within the web of ecology with deeper reciprocity & presence

I offer sessions through a queer, trauma informed & holistic framework; that values lived experience, curiosity, compassion, collaboration & communication. A deeply human & heart centred approach to care, that honours & nurtures our interconnectedness to land, ancestors, cyclical patterns, who we are becoming & the mystery within it all. Care that nourishes parts of the soul that are neglected in dominant culture & systems of care. My role in these sessions is to facilitate the co-creation of a ritual for gradual somatic reflection; supporting you developing a compassionate relationship to your body, a clear felt sense of connection to your hearts truth & an understanding of the systemic patterns underlying experience.

Refundable deposit: There is a $15 refundable deposit for this session, and as long as you either attend the session or cancel more than 2 days in advance, you will be refunded this cost. If you do not cancel with at least two day's notice, or you do not show up, you will be charged the $15. If you are committed to coming to the session but the $15 fee poses a financial barrier, please contact us at affirmation@tgv.org.au.

We acknowledge that COVID-19 has an ongoing impact on all members of our communities, especially our immunocompromised and disabled communities.

Below are the strategies we are implementing at every in-person event or gathering to increase our COVID-19 safety and build a culture of community care.

- Free N95 and K94 masks are available and wearing is encouraged - let’s keep each other safe!
- Doors and windows will be opened when suitable (bring warm clothes as it can get a little chilly)

What can you do to increase COVID-19 safety at our events?

- Complete a COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test prior to attending any of our events.
