    Event description

This service is for transgender, gender diverse, and nonbinary people.

About the session: If you're new to voice modulation and would like to try it in an affirming group environment, this event is for you. This session focusses on understanding the voice for voice modification, exploring pitch/resonance, practicing exercises and receiving feedback, vocal health, and tips to start using your affirmed voice in everyday scenarios.

About the facilitator:  Shevaun (She/Her) graduated with a Bachelor of Speech Pathology at Australian Catholic University. She is a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist (CPSP), a member of Speech Pathology Australia, and The Australian Professional Association for Trans Health (AusPATH).

Shevaun is a neurodivergent speech therapist who works with clients across the lifespan. She has experience working with LGBTQIA+ and neurodiverse communities and is passionate about providing gender-affirming voice and communication support to trans, gender diverse and non-binary people. Shevaun is dedicated to fostering a holistic, client-centred approach, integrating neurodiversity-affirming, mental health and trauma-informed practices that celebrate human diversity.

Shevaun works between a multidisciplinary private practice supporting people within LGBTQIA+ communities with voice and communication care, and a gender voice-specific service.
