Join Dr Jo Henderson (they/her) from Canada on Tuesday 14 May 2.00pm-3.00pm.

Dr Henderson is a clinical psychologist by training, whose work is focused on youth and emerging adults aged 12-25. She will be sharing recent key learnings and best practice for service providers.

This presentation will highlight significant outcomes from Dr Henderson's collaborative work along with the importance of mental health promotion and prevention in the full continuum of care.

Australasian School-Based Health Alliance (ASBHA)

All children and adolescents deserve to thrive and flourish. The link between health and education is well established but too many young people miss out on appropriate healthcare, and this affects their academic outcomes and their futures. School-based health care is the solution, bringing health care to where students already spend the majority of their time: in school, where they can thrive, and strive to reach their potential; physically, mentally, socially, and academically.

ASBHA originated in 2018 with like-minded individuals connecting across state and country lines... We realised we had a common vision and could do more, faster, together. We initiated ASBHA with the aims to:

Raise awareness about the benefits of school based health services;
Develop an understanding of who is who and who is doing what in Australia, New Zealand, and across the Pacific;
Develop inter-professional learning networks;
Promote high-quality clinical practices and standards;
Develop an evaluation framework and outcome measures; and
Advocate for greater support and funding
