ASBN SustainabiliTEA #20 // Low Carbon Cement: EvoCem from Adbri
Event description
Please join us for another ASBN SustainabiliTEA - a time to enjoy some tea (or morning beverage of your choice) whilst having a yarn about a diversity of topics around sustainable and regenerative built environments.
-------------
Our upcoming SustainabiliTEA session will be with David Farah, Group Manager - Quality and Innovation at Adbri
The next frontier of decarbonsiation is in building materials and there are Australian manufacturers providing pathways.Â
David Farah will give us insight on how Adbri is pursuing their Net Zero goals and low carbon cement and concrete options they are bringing to the Australian market.Â
Adbri celebrated two low carbon product milestones in 2023 with the launch of EvoCem low carbon cement, and the introduction of the Futurecrete range of low carbon concretes. Adbri EvoCem is a new lower carbon cement that reduces embodied carbon by up to 8% compared to conventional general purpose (GP) cement, as verified in our EPD. EvoCem is AS3972 compliant and satisfies the performance requirements of AS1379 and AS3600, making it a lower carbon substitute for Type GP cement. They also released Futurecrete, their range of lower carbon concretes that are produced using a minimum of 25% supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs).Â
We look forward to hearing David's insights whilst sharing space with you all virtually with a soothing cuppa!
