The Movement Conservation Project by ASICS
Description
We’re born to move, but modern life means we’re moving less and less. New research from ASICS has revealed people are spending 86% of their waking day not moving, as our increasingly convenient habits quietly design movement out of everyday life. That’s why ASICS is hosting the Movement Conservation Area, to help keep movement part of our lives.
ASICS is hosting The Movement Conservation Area, four free 15-minute guided movement sessions held in a central Sydney CBD location on Thursday 8 October 2026, ahead of World Mental Health Day (10 October). Sessions run at 10:30am, 11:15am, 12:30pm and 2:10pm.
The activation forms part of ASICS' global Movement Conservation Project, responding to new research showing modern life is quietly designing movement out of our everyday lives. Because just 15 minutes of movement can help uplift our mental state, ASICS is encouraging Sydneysiders to step away from their desks and move their body, and their mind.
Registration is via ballot. Enter now for your chance to be one of the selected participants. As part of your entry, you’ll select your preferred session time. Winners will be selected based on their response to the question ‘If you had just 15 minutes to move today, what would you do and why?’ and available capacity. If selected, you will receive an email on Monday 5 October. You must be available to attend on Thursday 8 October 2026 in a central Sydney CBD location. Limit one entry per person, multiple entries will not increase your chances of selection. Entrants must be 18 years or older.
Selected participants won’t just be taking part in a free guided movement session, they’ll also walk away with a brand new pair of ASICS running shoes & shirt, to keep the momentum going long after the event. Please note, there will be swapping of sizes on the day if you're a selected winner.
Please note personal belongings cannot be securely stored on-site, participants are responsible for keeping their own items (such as phones, shoes and water bottles) with them throughout the session. Please be aware that photography and videography will be taking place throughout the event for ASICS marketing and media purposes.
