This facilitated workshop series provides the knowledge and skills to design and implement a comprehensive strategy for obtaining information that is used to inform learners of their progress and guide them to successful completion. It enables the participants to plan, construct and use assessment instruments that are appropriate and ethical to their teaching context.
At the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Apply the key vocabulary, purposes, functions, and principles of high-quality assessment to different forms of assessment.Â
- Apply critical reflective practices to ethical implications and issues associated with assessment and evaluation.Â
- Apply the design principles and features of authentic performance assessments.Â
- Apply the principles and features of high-quality rubrics.Â
- Develop assessment and evaluation strategies that are aligned with learning outcomes through valid and reliable assessments that document and support student learning. Â
- Evaluate the alignment between high quality assessment tasks, rubrics, and assessment for learning through feedback to peers.Â
- Provide a rationale for assessment and evaluation decisions.Â
