Event description
Looking for a fun, practical, and reliable way to assess movement skills in your Prep to Year 6 PE lessons? This session will demonstrate how to assess your students’ movement competence and utilise the results to plan lessons and support those who require additional assistance.
This face-to-face session is ideal for anyone who is assessing Fundamental Movement Skills in the early years and/or PE in the mid-upper primary years:
PE specialists
Classroom teachers who assess PE
Early childhood teachers
Teacher aides
You'll be introduced to the:
KIDDO FMS Assessment Tool
An online tool that measures and tracks children’s fundamental movement skills, such as running, jumping, catching, balancing, and kicking. Over 130,000 students around Australia have been assessed using KIDDO's FMS assessment tool. Suitable for Prep – Year 2.
Canadian Agility and Movement Skill Assessment (CAMSA)
A short, game-like obstacle course that evaluates how well students perform and combine fundamental movement skills such as running, jumping, hopping, kicking, skipping, throwing, and catching. It’s an engaging, curriculum-aligned way to assess how students use their skills in a game-like context. Suitable for Years 3 - 6
This session will guide you through the process of running both the KIDDO FMS Assessment and CAMSA in your school setting, providing practical tips on setup, scoring, and utilising the data to inform your PE planning.
Jo Spencer (Strathcona Girls Grammar) will also share her experience using the KIDDO FMS Assessment and the impact KIDDO has had on her students’ FMS development.
Leave confident and ready to champion your students’ physical literacy journey with practical tools and strategies that make a real impact.
