Poche Centre Research Symposium Evaluating STI Interventions in Aboriginal Health Services

On Thursday, 10th October, the Poche Centre for Indigenous Health is hosting a research symposium featuring Associate Professor Simon Graham. He will present findings from his study on an STI intervention among young Aboriginal people in regional NSW. This intervention was carried out through Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services (ACCHSs), which were empowered to develop and implement tailored strategies for their communities. 

Associate Professor Graham’s study focused on boosting STI testing rates and diagnosing asymptomatic infections early to improve reproductive health outcomes. At the symposium, he will discuss whether these community-led interventions achieved their goals. Attendees will gain insights into the study’s successes and challenges through his presentation, followed by a panel discussion.
