Assorted Sporks is a  free queer friendly regular poetry and performance night at Mamma Chen's on Thursday October 30th

Theme: Dicks and Sadness

Themes are not mandatory, they are just to encourage you to experiment with your writing and improvisation. Feel free to make it weird.

Mils D-C is a poet, artist, activist, self-taught ethnobotanist, ecology student, and homelessness support worker living as a settler on unceded Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country.

All their work exists in the intertidal zone of colonial capitalism, among the still-vital creatures ground against its rocky shores.

7:00 pm Start, Host will be there from 6pm.

5 minute limit.

Perform your poetry, creative writing or performance art on the open mic to a friendly audience or come and be part of the crowd. There are going to be themes, writing prompts and improvised creativity (2 lines to a theme to music). Completely free. For more information check the events closer to the date. To keep this event a safe space for everyone, there will be no hate speech or your mic will be turned off and you may be asked to leave the stage.

Mamma Chen's is a wheelchair accessible venue however, the stage is not; we can organise lift access to the stage if you contact us at least a  week prior to the event.
