ASTER presents "Make 'Em Laugh"
Event description
ASTER is taking a lighthearted turn with this concert. The mirth-filled music we have chosen will bring gentle smiles, belly laughs, giggles and guffaws.
Colorado composer Kari Kraakevik's new work "Quire in Qwerty - That Almost Sentient Mechanism" for choir, piano and amplified typewriter will be premiered and is guaranteed to make you think differently about the quick brown fox who jumps over the lazy dog!
Selections by soloists from the choir include “Summer in Ohio”, “Whatever Happened to My Part”, “What a Movie”, “This Place is Mine”, and "All for the Best". Choral works include "I Sing, You Sing" by the Real Group, a setting of parlor game poems by Jane Austen and her Mother and "Would Like to Meet" which tells the tale of an energetic sea lion looking for love.
