Atelier Wilston - Kerry Drysdale
Event description
Welcome to the colourful, light and life-filled world of Australian artist, Kerry Drysdale.
Working from his home studio in the inner Brisbane suburb of Wilston, his work celebrates a familiar and distinctly Queensland sense of place.
His ‘Queenslander’ series presents a collection of unassuming weatherboard homes under dappled sunlight, while his ‘Lamington’ collection captures layers of life in Queensland’s Lamington National Park, in a vibrant palette that virtually buzzes off the canvas.
Kerry studied Fine Art at USQ and cites influences including William Robinson and Ray Crooke. He is a painter at heart, preferring oils, and speaks of his appreciation of the loose brushwork of the French Impressionists and his intention to deliver a sense of movement in his work. His creativity has extended across many mediums including mosaics, dioramas and film.
Come and enjoy these collections and meet Kerry by securing your ticket today.
