Atlas of Living Australia and Community Landcare
Event description
Atlas of Living Australia and Community LandcareÂ
Tuesday 26 November 2024 1.30-2.30 pm online on Zoom
The WA Landcare Network invites all members of the landcare community to participate in our last Landcare Checks In for 2024.Â
Join the WALN team and guest speaker, Juliet Seers who will provide an informative presentation on the Atlas of Living Australia (ALA), a vital tool for biodiversity monitoring and environmental management.Â
Juliet will highlight the ALA’s extensive database, which compiles biodiversity data from various sources, making it a rich resource for landcare groups. She will demonstrate how the platform provides access to species occurrence records, environmental data, and even predictive models, enabling community members to better understand local ecosystems and make informed decisions in their conservation efforts.Â
During the session Juliet will also offer some case studies to show how groups have successfully leveraged the ALA to enhance their land management practices and foster community engagement.Â
We look forward to you joining us to explore how community landcarers can benefit from the Atlas of Living Australia.Â
