Atomic Pulse 1 is an intimate, immersive Dolby Atmos audio-visual performance designed for deep listening and expanded perception. Using an Atmos surround playback system and immersive video projection wall, the artists will explore spatial sound as a transformative musical environment, creating works specifically for the full Atmos field. With seating limited to 40 guests, each listener will be placed inside an optimal listening zone for a focused, otherworldly experience of sound, image, and space. The program will feature Gentlebutterfly from Austin, James Talambas from Dallas, and Garland Fielder from Houston, with visual contributions from Austin-based video artist Hexpartner, and live audio support by Gabriel Brown.

Gentlebutterfly
Gentlebutterfly's fascination with electronic music began with Kraftwerk and D.A.F. vinyl LPs a cousin brought back from a European backpacking trip. Years of formal training in percussion and composition, plus a professional career in Chicago's experimental jazz, rock, theater, and dance scenes, deepened that spark. After moving to Austin and raising a family, Gentlebutterfly returned to music — this time fully embracing electronic music. Working in Reason Studio, Dolby Atmos, and Resolume, Gentlebutterfly creates immersive audiovisual pieces on a 13-speaker Atmos system, carrying a drummer's instinct for rhythm and finding it not just in sound but in the colors and movement of the accompanying visuals. The result: experimental electronic music and video built for spatial, experiential listening.
James Talambas
James Talambas is a multidisciplinary new media artist, composer and DJ who employs technology, acoustics and improvisation to create site-specific and performer-specific electro-acoustic works that interact with and manipulate the architectural, social, and auditory spaces they inhabit. He's based in Dallas TX, where he owns New Media Contemporary, writing scores and sound design for films and producing pieces for international artists.
The Sun Sounds Like Screaming Sirens
Garland Fielder is an artist, musician, writer and designer living in Houston, Texas. The Sun Sounds Like Screaming Sirens is his current solo project. His studio, ARChouse, near downtown Houston, has served as a venue for visual and performing arts since 2020. His other sound projects include Anton Syndrome, Phil Spectral, Piksii, which can be found on Bandcamp. Fielder’s most recent visual art can be viewed in an exhibition in October, 2026, at ThroughLine Gallery in Houston, Texas. His art writing can be found on Glasstire.com.
Hexpartner
Hexpartner is a composer, multi-instrumentalist, and digital artist based in Austin, TX. They enjoy using generative TouchDesigner networks for their own A/V sets, as well as manipulating live visuals for other musicians. Prior to adopting digital art practices, they focused on digital and film fine art photography as a former member and social media manager of 500X Gallery, an artist-run, co-operative art gallery based in Dallas, TX.
Gabriel Brown
Gabriel Brown is a composer, audio technologist, and sound artist exploring the evolving relationship between music and technology. Gabe is pursuing a Master’s in Music Composition at the University of Texas Butler School, studying with Experimental and Electronic Music Studios' professor Tanner Jones. With a background in traditional composition and experimental sound design, Gabe’s work balances precision and expression, aiming to preserve music’s emotional, human qualities while embracing modern audio technology. Recent projects include an original score for a FAMU student film shot on 16mm, and a new instrument created by using transducers on an array of aluminum trusses.
