    Event description

Australia is grappling with a workforce shortage across various sectors and is felt even more in regional and rural areas.

Attracting people to regional areas relies on more than an interesting job but also the proposition that you’re heading to a welcoming community to build a new life.

Standing out from the crowd as a welcoming organisation and community is achieved through developing clear inclusion plans and strategies. Through doing this you will enhance the benefits of diversity within your current workforce and strengthen retention as well as increase the attraction of new hires.

Join the Work+Stay team and SSI’s Diversity Training team to explore the opportunities a diverse workforce presents and how to maximise the benefits.

    About Work + Stay

Australia’s regions are in dire need of workers in a range of sectors. At the same time, many people in cities – including newcomers – are looking for employment. SSI’s Work+Stay business aims to bring the two together, helping to solve challenges for regional employers and to build stronger communities.

The program has a focus on right-fit employment and lifestyle solutions for newcomers considering relocation, and the right long-term workforce for employers in the regions.

SSI acknowledges the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First and Traditional Custodians of the lands where we live, learn and work. We pay respect to Elders past and present and recognise their continuous connection to water, sky and Country. SSI remains committed to reconciliation and to working with First Nations peoples to realise “Makarrata” – a Yulngu word meaning the coming together after a struggle.
