Event description

Image description: A dark gallery space with two artworks. In the foreground, at the lower left corner of the image is a black circular installation. It has glowing blue light at its centre, with smaller streaks of light swirling around its surface. In the background at the upper right of the image, is a large rectangular artwork with earthy tones hung on a dark grey wall.

ACCA and Loom are thrilled to offer a free Audio Described tour of current exhibition, Five Acts of Love. Join us on Saturday the 2nd of August at 2pm for a roving tour with tactile elements, lead by Zoe Boesen.

Curated by Nur Shkembi OAM, Five Acts of Love features twelve local and international artists with works across a range of mediums. The exhibition revolves around five acts: resistance, revolution, intimacy, memory and annihilation. Each act of love circles around what we ultimately relinquish when we love – and are loved.

Designed in consultation with the blind and low-vision community, this tour will be informal, accessible in content and allow for self-directed exploration. We would like people to engage in the tour however works best for them. This could mean coming and going throughout, engaging in conversation or just listening to the information.

Whilst this tour has been designed with the blind and low-vision community in mind, it is open to all disability community members who may benefit.

Access:ACCA is fully wheelchair accessible, with a wheelchair accessible bathroom, and a wheelchair available for use in the gallery on request at the front desk. Assistance dogs are welcome at ACCA. You can learn more about accessibility at ACCA here on our website. Please feel free to get in touch with us if you have any questions.
