Join us for a fun and unique group acting coaching session with Melbourne-based acting coach Kate Ellis, facilitated by Michelle Griffiths, working Actor, Acting for Camera coach and South West based Talent Agent.

This session is designed for aspiring actors aged 10 and up, with no upper age limit—there’s a place for all ages in the film and TV industry! Whether you’re just starting out or already building your skills, this workshop caters to beginners and working actors alike. Agent representation is not required. You’ll have the opportunity to work alongside other actors, from beginners to those with more experience, in a supportive and collaborative environment. It’s a fantastic chance to delve into character development, performance techniques, and self-tape preparation, offering valuable tools to enhance your acting journey

This high energy, jam-packed two-hour session will combine the insights of Kate Ellis via Zoom and the guidance of Michelle Griffiths in person, ensuring a dynamic and collaborative learning experience. The session will focus on:

  • Creating impactful and attention-grabbing self tapes and auditions
  • Honouring your artistry as an actor.
  • Experimenting with and exploring scenes and characters.
  • Using emotions to convey messages and communicate your character’s journey.
  • Gaining fresh perspectives and approaches to character study.
  • Learning to trust your instincts and honouring when a performance "lands" for you as an artist.

Kate’s innovative coaching style, paired with Michelle’s facilitation and hands-on approach as both a coach and talent agent, will create a supportive and engaging environment for actors to refine their skills and grow in their craft.

This session comes at an exciting time for the WA film and TV industry, which has boomed over the past few years with productions like The Twelve starring Sam Neill, Mystery Road, Scrublands, Population 11 and films such as Nicolas Cage’s The Surfer, Runt, and We Bury the Dead starring Daisy Ridley and How to Please a Woman. With 2025 shaping up to be another great year for the WA film and TV industry with the BBC production of Ghosts kicking off production in WA shortly, this session will give actors the tools and techniques they need to make the most of these growing opportunities and stand out in this thriving industry.

About Kate Ellis:
Kate Ellis is a highly respected acting coach, currently working on a yet to be disclosed, international TV Series. Her extensive experience includes working with the cast of renowned national productions such as Hamilton: The Musical, Wicked, and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. She has also coached on notable projects such as The Saddle Club, Mako Mermaids; and the British children’s series Secret Life of Boys (2020).

Kate has conducted specialised workshops for NIDA students, cast members of Neighbours and Drama Victoria and has worked with renowned acting coach Miranda Harcourt (Nicole Kidman’s acting coach!) and producer/director Anupam Sharma of Temple Films at Fox Studios.

About Michelle Griffiths:
Michelle Griffiths is a working Actor, dedicated Acting for Camera Coach, Voice Actor and South West based Talent Agent with experience working with actors of all levels. Michelle recently finished filming on Newland Productions Indi film, Remotely Famous to be released in 2025. Based in the South West of WA, Michelle is passionate about supporting emerging talent in her local community and beyond. Known for her nurturing and practical approach, she specialises in helping actors refine their on-camera presence and develop a deeper understanding of character study. Michelle’s ability to connect with actors of all ages and create a comfortable yet challenging environment ensures a seamless and enriching experience for all participants.
