August Managers of Volunteers Network Meeting - Statewide Online
Event description
Volunteering Tasmania: August Network Meeting
Tuesday 25th
August 10am – 12 noon
National Standards for Volunteer Involvement
Standard 8: Quality Management and Continuous Improvement
Overview
Effective volunteer involvement results from a system of good practice, review, and continuous improvement.
Quality management and continuous improvement ensures that the organisation has a way of monitoring how well its involvement of volunteers is working, and of identifying and implementing ways of improving the outcomes for both volunteers and the organisation.
But what does quality management and continuous improvement actually look like?
This two-hour online meeting will introduce participants to the National Standards for Volunteer Involvement: Standard 8: Quality Management and Continuous Improvement.
Volunteering Tasmania facilitators will engage participants in the discussion about how organisations currently meet this standard. Online breakout rooms will enable shared discussion and networking opportunities.
Prior to the meeting, participants will be sent the self-assessment tool to evaluate where they are currently positioned in accordance to this standard to network over what is currently working or the challenges they are experiencing when trying to meet to this standard.
How do you currently monitor and review the following?
- How well are your volunteer recruitment and management systems working for your volunteers and the organisation?
- The extent to which volunteer involvement is providing a positive impact on the organisations outcomes
- How effectively volunteer time is being utilized?
You will also hear from Lauren, Australian Red Cross, about how they have introduced training for their Volunteer Managers around Professional Boundaries meeting some of the criteria set out in Standard 8.
